An Icelandic minimalist landscape

7-Day Photographic Adventure

If you love to shoot minimalist compositions, with black brush strokes on a white canvas, then this trip is for you.

During the week we will spend together, we will be based in a hotel, situated in the interior.

The landscape is seldom the same. Snow conditions will vary which contributes to this being a trip of exploring. Each day we will venture out to see what we will find. If you are open minded and like to go with the flow, rather than follow a fixed itinerary, then this will be the trip for you.

Some years we have done this trip, we have had almost minimalist conditions, and other years we’ve had parts of the black volcanic earth poke through the snow to give us something more tangible to work with. It is different each time I come here.

Icelandic Guide & Super Clearance Vehicle

Due to the remoteness of the Fjallabak region & the challenges of the Icelandic weather, it's only possible to venture there in high-clearance super vehicles and with the aid of some professional help.

We will therefore be traveling in a modified high-clearance super vehicle with our own professional guide / driver. He is a former member of Iceland's Mountain Search & Rescue. He has assisted international networks such as National Geographic, CNN and CBS with shoots in Iceland, so you will be in good hands.

Small group size of 6

Bruce likes to run his photography-adventures in a friendly, intimate group setting. This trip has a maximum group size of eight.

Unlike a lot of tours with up to 12 or 16 people on them, running with a smaller number allows everyone to have space in which to photograph. It also means more quality time for Bruce with each participant.

This trip is more of a tour* than Bruce's normal workshops, due to the logistics involved, but you will get a lot of hands on experience from Bruce while at the same time, immerse yourself with plenty of time out in the field on your own.

* Please note that this is not a workshop. It is a photographic tour, focussed on getting you to great locations for the best light.

Daily Schedule & Logistics

We will shoot during the daylight hours, heading out after breakfast and staying out until we return for dinner in the evening.

Each day will have the following format:

Breakfast.

Traveling time to location.

10:00am - 6:00pm

6:00 - 7:00pm
